The Hangman

The pleas of mother from Hades,
The pact with my lover
And my children
I ignore.
I ignore
The counsel of friends
And family,
I pace
On the porch of righteous anger,
I watch
The approach of the hangman.
The noose is poised,
On my innocent neck
The noose aims,
I ready my neck now
For the hangman.
But
The gallows grumble,
The noose refuses to tighten,
My mouth continues to shoot
And refuses to shut.
